Xuan is a Senior Policy Officer with the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Bangkok. She is the Regional Coordinator for One Country One Priority Product Initiative and a Country Focal Point for Hand-in-Hand Initiative in Bhutan. She was an Attaché de Cabinet of Office of the Director-General, FAO, Rome, Italy and the Programme Coordinator of Innovation, Access to Knowledge and Intellectual Property Programme and Lead Economist at South Centre, Geneva, Switzerland.
Xuan has been working on food security and nutrition, international trade, agriculture, intellectual property and sustainable development issues at International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, World Trade Institute, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
She holds double PhD in Economics (University of St. Gallen, Switzerland) and International Law (University of Bern, Switzerland).
