What is the process of entering Bhutan?

After your registration has been successfully completed and approved for attendance, our logistics team will be in touch with you to assist with the required documentation for your visa processing.

We are pleased to inform international participants who have been approved to attend BATIF 2024 that their Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and visa fees will be waived for entry into Bhutan.

How many days will I get my SDF waived for?

The SDF is waived for 6 nights to cover the duration of the BATIF 2024 so please plan your visit accordingly. For example, you may plan to fly into Bhutan on 14 May and leave by 20 May 2024.

How long will the visa process take?

The Logistics team will process your visa within approximately 10 days of receiving all your information.

What documents are required to process my visa application?

Please keep a scanned copy of your passport ready, with your bio page and passport number clearly visible.

Can I stay longer in Bhutan?

Yes, you may. However, we kindly ask that you ensure you are able to cover the SDF for the duration of your stay in Bhutan.

Can I come here through a tour operator?

We kindly request that your entry into Bhutan is contingent upon your attendance at BATIF 2024 in its entirety. Hence, we regret to inform you that your entry into Bhutan cannot be facilitated through a tour operator. Nevertheless, during your stay in Bhutan, you are most welcome to avail yourself of the services of local tour operators for sightseeing or for extending your stay for additional days.
