Singapore’s Dia Natural Shop puts Bhutanese botanicals on the global shelf

A chance encounter at the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia 2023 in Singapore has evolved into a growing international market for Bhutanese wellness products.

Singaporean entrepreneur Lishan, inspired by Bhutanese herbal teas, essential oils and natural remedies showcased at the expo, founded Dia Natural Shop—a platform dedicated to bringing Bhutan’s natural products to global consumers.

Within three years, the brand now offers over 30 Bhutan-sourced products, including teas, oils, soaps, tinctures and spices, in collaboration with local producers such as Gurjo Herbal Tea, Mugwort Solutions and Kingdom Essence.

The initiative traces back to Bhutan’s participation in the expo, supported by the Department of Agricultural Marketing and Cooperatives in partnership with international agencies, to connect local entrepreneurs with global markets.

Officials say the success reflects how targeted market exposure can translate into export opportunities, with Dia Natural Shop emerging as a dedicated online platform for Bhutanese products in Singapore.

Building on this momentum, the brand continues to expand partnerships with Bhutanese producers and promote the country’s natural wellness products internationally.
