Tashi is the former Director General of the Bhutan Agriculture & Food Regulatory Authority in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. He has a PhD in Animal Production Systems, an MSc in Animal Science from Wageningen University, The Netherlands, and a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science from Kerala, India. Tashi has been instrumental in shaping agricultural policies, fostering innovation, and advocating for sustainable practices. influence extends beyond Bhutan’s borders, as evidenced by his engagements in international organizations. He served as the Vice President of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) Regional Commission for Asia and Pacific, Tokyo.
Additionally, he chaired the boards of Bhutan Agro Industries Ltd and Bhutan Livestock Development Corporation Limited. Moreover, he chaired the Animal Production and Health Commission of Asia & Pacific (FAO-APHCA) and held a seat on the Executive Committee of the Asia Pacific Association for Agriculture Research Institutes (APAARI).
